She has written numerous courses in canine behaviour, training and care, and tutored students in behavioural studies, pet bereavement counselling, and natural healing for dogs and cats until her retirement at the end of 2008. Dee was the Behaviour Consultant for Dogs Monthly magazine for many years, and wrote each month on behaviour and training topics from 1999 until the spring of 2008, as well as answering many questions from readers in her DogSense column. She has also written for Pet Dogs, Mad About Dogs, Eukanuba magazine, and Our Dogs. She is the author of three books, and many canine behaviour and care courses. During her years as a dog trainer and behavourist, she was a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (No. 158) from 1995-2008, and since her retirement, remains a subscriber to the Association. She was also a member of the Federation of Dog Trainers and Canine Behaviourists from 1998-2008. Dee taught obedience classes for ten years, teaching puppy, beginners, intermediate, and advanced level classes. She ran a behavioural practice for seven years, working on veterinary referral. Dee is a Reiki Master Practitioner, and uses natural healing to help both people and pets. She lives in Berkshire with her husband, David, and Caelen, her second Golden Retriever. Many years were shared with four generations of German Shepherd Dogs, and then Tayla, her first Goldie. Since retirement, much of her time is taken up with photography, and of course, having fun with Caelen. |
